There are times where a portrait is really for me a battle against wills. My friend here has very striking features, but me being someone who's kind of blunt with the brush strokes, it's hard to capture a feminine touch. I admire artists who can navigate between soft and hard approaches. All I can say is that it's an uphill battle that I hope to walk away with a more deft hand at rendering the delicate features of a woman.
