"Rainy Night Naro" 18"x24" Oil on Board.
/Another in my series of the Naro Theatre. It was a challenge for me to paint this size and try to knock it out in a relative short time. Of course, I had to stop painting at a time when I was unsure where to go with it. To me, it makes it much harder to dive back in when I left of in a moment of crucial decisions. The Alizarin Crimson is a tough pigment for me to handle. I have used it in the past with epic failures during plein air competitions. Hopefully this is more successful, maybe you all will agree. If not, I'm up for honest criticism.
"Los Pintares Rapidos" T-Shirt concept.
/I'm always getting paint on my good clothes, so maybe this would be a cool Tshirt to wear instead. (minus the watermark) I hate painting aprons.
Cool to be featured in the Virginian-Pilot about local plein air painters.
/If you happen to have the Evening Pilot iPad app, they have a feature about local Plein Air Painting and me. Otherwise it'll be in tomorrow's Virginian-Pilot. Here's the time-lapse video from that day.
"American Rover Sunset" 24"x36" Oil on Canvas.
/I'm glad this one is over, now I don't have any large unfinished paintings hanging around in the studio.
"Washington Island Farm" 2x3" Miniature Oil on Board.
/My son Cole helped out with this mini painting.

"Colonial Avenue Train Crossing" 18x24" REWORKED.
/I normally don't like going back to older work, but this one section of the painting, the red building, was way to bright. It was always a sore point whenever I looked at it.
"Elizabeth River Tug" 8x10" oil on board.
/Last night’s painting.
"Bennett's Creek Restaurant" plein air 9x12" oil on board.
/Not exactly happy with this one, lost control of my color palette. Next time, I'll make sure I have my umbrella to keep the sun off my easel.
"Harbor Park Steam Engine" miniature. 2x3" oil on board.
/Something challenging about painting this darn small. No room for any detail that gets muddled in the confines of this small format. State the facts and move on.
"Pungo Study 1" miniature oil on board 2x3".
/Started making small studies to refine my composition skills.
My latest time-lapse video, "Diesel by Moonlight".
/Time-lapse painting from my live painting demo on U-Stream. "Untitled" song is by my friend, Daniel Harner, from his Armory Sessions. https://soundcloud.com/daniel-harner
