Another in my series of the Naro Theatre. It was a challenge for me to paint this size and try to knock it out in a relative short time. Of course, I had to stop painting at a time when I was unsure where to go with it. To me, it makes it much harder to dive back in when I left of in a moment of crucial decisions. The Alizarin Crimson is a tough pigment for me to handle. I have used it in the past with epic failures during plein air competitions. Hopefully this is more successful, maybe you all will agree. If not, I'm up for honest criticism.

"Los Pintares Rapidos" T-Shirt concept.

I'm always getting paint on my good clothes, so maybe this would be a cool Tshirt to wear instead. (minus the watermark) I hate painting aprons.

Cool to be featured in the Virginian-Pilot about local plein air painters.

If you happen to have the Evening Pilot iPad app, they have a feature about local Plein Air Painting and me. Otherwise it'll be in tomorrow's Virginian-Pilot. Here's the time-lapse video from that day.

I normally don't like going back to older work, but this one section of the painting, the red building, was way to bright. It was always a sore point whenever I looked at it.

Something challenging about painting this darn small.  No room for any detail that gets muddled in the confines of this small format.  State the facts and move on.
